Metal ceilings are ideal for public spaces, offices, restaurants and other places where you will appreciate their easy maintenance, long life and high fire resistance. The most common types include full-surface, lamellar, or open variants, such as pull-out units and hanging islands.

1. Are metal ceilings acoustic?
By default, metal suspended ceilings do not have acoustic properties, but they can be modified to absorb sound. This can be achieved, for example, by adding acoustic insulation (e.g. SPP2) or by microperforating the surface. Insulation can be applied directly to the soffit or to the load-bearing part of the ceiling, with the best efficiency achieved by using an air gap between the ceiling and the soffit.

2. Żahokov - trends in metal suspended ceilings
Thanks to its open structure, Tahokov is perfectly suited to open ceiling systems, for example in offices or corridors. It makes it possible to create a visual barrier between the technical installations and the work space without disturbing the open feel of the room. Another advantage is the possibility of placing the lighting above the soffit without creating shading.

3. Hanging slats - current trend in projects
Hanging slats are currently very popular. With a surface treatment imitating wood, they can elegantly replace solid wood, especially where it is necessary to meet the requirements of fire resistance class A2. As long as they are placed at a height, they look almost indistinguishable from natural wood.

4. Smaller ceiling range? Choose system solutions
If you are working on a smaller project, we recommend choosing a system solution. The production of atypical dimensions can be expensive and some manufacturers have a minimum order of up to 100 m². Therefore, it is more practical to choose standard products and possibly finish the edges of the ceiling with plasterboard.

5. Heating and cooling
Metal suspended ceilings are an excellent solution for full-area heating and cooling due to their ability to transmit heat and cold almost without loss. The pipe system is often already prepared in the factory and is located behind the visible part of the boards, which ensures optimal performance. However, it is advisable to plan this system in the project phase.

6. Where are metal ceilings unsuitable?
If you want to create a cozy atmosphere, for example in an apartment or family house, metal suspended ceilings are not a suitable choice. They are also not ideal for low spaces, where they will not look aesthetically pleasing. They stand out best at higher altitudes.

7. Price of metal ceilings
Metal suspended ceilings offer a reasonable price/performance ratio. They are therefore an affordable choice for public projects that require a long life, minimal maintenance and a non-combustible material with an attractive appearance.

In conclusion
Metal soffits are great as a suspended soffit or slats and provide a practical solution for covering technologies and pipes running under the load-bearing ceiling. Whether you choose a solid, perforated or open variant, metal suspended ceilings will give the space a modern and industrial look.
